Title: Lira VS Sterling... What to bring?
Post by: Jamie P on June 06, 2007, 11:32:42 AM
As above really.

Myself and 3 friends will be coming to Fethiye in 2 weeks time.

I am wondering what the best option for money would be... Bring all spending money in Lira? Or two thirds in Lira, and one third in Sterling?

Or all in Sterling and exchange when we arrive?

Or just use sterling for everything?

Advice please.

Thankyou.

Bring everything in Sterling . You will not have any problem to exchange here . If you exchange in UK ,you will get a low rate.

Thankyou for the replies - Will bring sterling and exchange it there...

But would i be able to pay for things in sterling? Just incase i dont get a chance to exchange the money on the first day, and needed to buy something from a local shop - milk, bread, food etc?

If any of you have a Nationwide debit card - that actually gives you the best exchange rate possible.
Might be worth you all putting your spending money into Nationwide- you can draw out the equivalent of £300 a day.
2 weeks just might be enough time to open an account - useful for any future holidays anywhere in the world.
