I can honestly say I dont think Ive been short-changed by any women here unless you all know otherwise? :D

there is one naughty lady who tried to con us when we first tried to buy property in turkey
she does not trade now after complaints to the mayor

What about the lasies at the end of the Tuesday market who call you over and then put a bracelet on you and put you under serious pressure to buy. I dislike them more than any of the guys, very intimidating.

They are only as intimidating as you let them be.......You only have to say No Thank you! If you let them stick a bracelet on your wrist you must expect the Hard sell. I will say they do target children who are obviously an easy mark. :(

I definitely give them the wide birth they deserve.....now, they call you over to look but that bracelet is on you before you even realise and getting it off is not easy. Once bitten, twice shy.

Just start walking away with the bracelet on, they'll soon get it off for you !

Ah yes, thanks cef. Remember now! Things were much better when we were out last week. None of that nonsense going on (at least we didn't see it! It was obviously my gorgeous daughters that were of more interest than me - leave them at home and we were fine, lol!)

In the summer, we were informed a pair of shoes were leather (they clearly weren't). I could see the 'man made' logo inside the shoe. I said that they weren't leather and got told by the shop assistant that they were. So, was she lying or mistaken?

I had the same problem when deciding not to buy a pair of boots.I saw the ticket inside the box that stated PVC but the shopkeeper insisted they were real leather so I showed him the ticket and his remark was " yes yes its chinese leather"!!

I've been told by a "man in the market" that real leather will not melt when lit by a lighter - proof of being genuine.
A friend lit a handbag which we were assured was "Real Leather" and was escorted from the shop when the handbag started to melt before our eyes.

OOops - The nack is to keep the flame moving and also use the coolest part of the flame, the yellow bit. Personally I go for the sniff test if I come out of the shop high as a kite - it's plastic!

I think you have to have laugh at some of the cons going not moan about them ,4 watches for ten quid of course they are crap but they seem to last for ages batteries dearer than watch ,the worlds dearest commodity Indian saffron £2,250 per kilo every spice stall in turkey has at least 1x 25 kg bag they all must be millionaires
perhaps thats why with kosher saffron you only need 3/4 stamen and market stuff a teaspoon full

The best thing to do is offer to sell them your body - soon puts them off - when we get cold callers on the phone at home, we tell them we are having sex - can they call back in half an hour - works every time!
