Does anyone have experience of staying in Izmir.  My daughter's booked a flight to Izmir in October and is looking for a hostel or cheapy hotel.  Thanks.

Try Bookings.com there's a large variety from 19 euros for a single, 29euros for double (breakfast included) & upwards

From my own experience of Izmir and having just booked cheap hotels for frinds visiting, the Basmane area has some of the cheaper hotels. Also try hostel bookers or hostel world for decent priced places, they do have hotels on the sites and not just hostels.

Thanks for that. She's probably going to stay in a hostel.  She's trying out travel on her own prior to 'going travelling'.  She's not sure if she'll like it so trying baby steps first.
