Title: using turkish atm cards overseas

Can anybody tell me is it possible to use a debit card from turkish bank  to buy things in shops or online and withdraw cash from ATM in countries other than turkey and if so what it may cost, ball park figures as I appreciate different banks have different rates. TIA

You can withdraw from ATM's and purchase in shops overseas but I have no idea of the charges.

I am not sure if you can buy online overseas with a Turkish debit card. You can't in Turkey. It must be a credit card.

I have used my turkish cards outside turkey many times and never had a problem,also the exchange rate was done at the turkish end so got better rates when the purchases went through.This is how the Finans  bank do it anyway not sure about other banks.

Had this problem before and was informed by the bank that youcannot use a Turkish Debit card for overseas. Tried it for my Qatar Visa a few years ago and it was refused.
However if you have a Turkish credit card then you can use it.

Like Mac2010 I have never had a problem with using my Finansbank debit card overseas either.

Must be your bank Jack  ???
