We stayed at that very hotel for a holiday that started this weekend last year. It is indescribable to be watching film of such carnage in a place we feel we know so well and hard to take in because it was such a friendly, welcoming and relaxing place to be.

Simply awful to target people enjoying a hard earned break. It is obviously to destroy the tourism industry in Tunisia and it probably will.

RIP to all who lost their lives there today :(

The most depressing aspect is that I don't think we can stop the next attack.

R.I.P the dead and deepest condolences to those who are suffering the trauma of this heinous act.

I honestly think that we became overseas war weary and (quite rightly) pressured government to bring our troops back home and leave Iraq and Afghanistan to sort out their own problems. But I think this is very different - we are under continual, real threat and we really should get our government and others to go in and flatten ISIS before we have a World civil war.

"we really should get our government and others to go in and flatten ISIS before we have a World civil war."

I would agree entirely but do you think it a genuine possibility. I am not so sure.

They are more locatable than Taliban etc as they are fighting to increase their territory. They should be easily found on the borders of that push. Fry a few and I bet the brainwashed dreamers in the UK won't be in such a rush to join them at the front.

It beggars belief that major Governments don't know who is funding and organising ISIL.

There appears to be smoking guns in Middle East States, and Turkey in relation to Syria.

Cut the funding possibilities and their means of communication. The West have that ability.

So very true.  Think about this, who were the recipients of the several convoys of weapons MIT sent down south, and why did the polis who stopped them all end up in jail?

The USA makes loud noises about ISIS but it is still best of friends with the Saudis who are main paymasters and sponsors of terrorism in the region. They consolidate this by seeking to demonize Iran - for reasons I think we can guess - which is the principal opposition to Saudi Arabia. RIP those innocent tourists killed as a consequence of Middle Eastern horrors.

The royal family who control to some extent Saudi Arabia have always walked a tightrope with Wahhabism and needed their support to gain power at the outset. Obama has about a year and a half of being president of USA and has always been a great talker, thinking that reasoning alone can solve Isil problem. His time could be better spent in meeting Putin and discussing a way forward were they both commit troops, on the understanding that in two years time all effected Kurds,Syrians etc have a voice and vote on boundaries of countries with areas governance passing to the idiginious ? People discussion could also include other areas like Crimea.

My view of Putin is that he / Russia should be totally isolated by the West until he gets out of Crimea

and ownership of the missile that bought down the passenger aircraft over Ukraine, killing all those

people, is established. He is no better than ISIL in my book.

Haven't heard anything about expats having to leave, just tourists, and no one to go except for essential travel. The Gov must have some imminent intelligence to make this call.  :(

Yes, it was on Sky News this morning that ex-pats have been asked to leave.   Of course ISIS have now got their wish and a country whose economy is based on tourisim will now go into melt down and become vunerable to an ISIS take over.

Watched "This Morning" where they put the map of all the High Alert areas all coloured red and Turkey was one, but strangely enough G.B. was not flagged up. !!!!
Then some woman rang in to say that her travel agency would not cancel her holiday to Turkey on the 4th September.   The travel expert in the studio told her that Turkey was very savvy and had already uncovered plots  and would continue to do so, and he advised her to go and not to worry.  He also asked had she been before and she told him she had and she loved Turkey.   Another woman asked was she safe going to Rhodes as it was surrounded by Muslim countries.....
