3 month Visa's
« on: June 29, 2008, 11:25:41 AM »
Hi
Can someone advise me re a question about the visa's. We came over on the 30th May 2008 and purchased a 3 month visa, we are returning on the 26th August and flying home again on the 6th sept. Our visa therefore runs out whilst we are staying, do we need to buy a new visa when we enter Turkey again on the 26th or are we still covered by our previous one?
thanks

You need a new one. It has to still be valid for all the period of your stay

Hi Crystal.
The answer is a definite YES. Get new visas at Dalaman on your way IN.

Similar help needed, please  :)

We arrive in Turkey for almost a month on 4th August and will get a new visa on arrival as our last one will have expired.

We're out again in October, returning home on 2nd November.

From the 4th August, does the 2nd November count as the 90th or the 91st day [?]  (Not sure if we have to count both the 4th August and the 2nd November.)  Don't want to pay £40 for visas again in October if our previous one is still valid.  (Then again, don't want to get into trouble either  :-\ )   By the way, what happens if you over-run by a day or so - NOT that we're going to, of course!   :o

Visa's. A lesson learnt. Last year my wife went out to Calis with a friend sometime around May, We both then went out the end of July through to the end of Aug 07. This meant her Visa was still Valid for the July/August Visit.  On leaving Dalaman at Passport Control the police official noticed her Visa was 2 days out of the 3 month period. We stupidly never thought to check. She was whisked into a side office and stood before an official (limited english speaking) who then demanded 45Euros from us as punishment. Our plane was being Called at this point and so we handed over money (via trip to Bankomatic) and left. A sour experience to the end of a fab holiday. We wont make that mistake again.

:)Thats true, a friend of ours was 1 day over, due to her husband being in hospital, she was also charged £85, they also nearly missed their flight, the officials at Dalaman are very abrupt a strange contrast to the turkish people cyou meet on holiday, they are not bothered if you miss your flight or not, ;)
