How to make people buy their beers at Migros and leave the bars even emptier, great idea. Works in the UK too. Fair enough, don't make it a minimum price, make it THE price.

I can't understand the logic behind this at all. So if a bar can charge 3 ytl for an efes and make a profit what happens to the extra money now that they have to charge 4ytl - is this an extra tax that the bars then pay? Absolutely bonbonbonbonkers!

It is most likely a wee joke made up by the owners and staff of the bars, all laughing at how gullible Brits are. Of course if they feel it would be accepted, they'll put it up to 4 lira

ive seen the document concerning the price fixing and from what i can gather its a commitee of local business men and have been doing it for years. one of the main committe members is something to do with the simsek hotel on the front apparently. just go to the bars that havent signed the agreement like meri bar and up the other end theres seril, oben corner and another one with beer at 2.50

Right there you have it. If that's correct, it's not compulsory, it's a voluntary cartel. So do as Lucy suggests and boycott bars charging 4 ytl. Job done.
