Watching the Police Camera Action type programmes (of which there are many now), stingers are used by British cops with varying levels of incompetence. Should be fun over there

Speed, flick of the wrist, broken knuckles and, of course, the police car being in the right place at the right time.  Can't wait to see it in action.

Wrist action of course, I note from a layman's point of view that the biggest cause of failure is not the action, it's the two guys in hi-vis yellow jackets standing at the side of it that generally give the game away with plenty of time to spare to any joyriding chavs.
