And Ataturk's words weren't just propaganda. If you visit Gallipoli on any day of the year, not just during the Anzac Day Celebrations, you'll see the high respect given to the graves and memorials to the fallen of both sides by Turks of all ages.

It was that very piece of writing that first gave me an interest in Ataturk - it is incredibly powerful yet gentle sentiment to share with the people who recently were in conflict with your country. Look at us, over 60 years on and we still hate the Germans  ;)
