If you walked to the beach and turned right (Fethiye being left) and walked to the far end, that is Koca Calis  :)

Ian, did you use one of those, erm, camera things?  Nice pic.   ;D

Suzzpuss, yes a real camera - as opposed to a dumbphone.

But not a particularly fancy camera - just a pocket sized Sony.

Sitting here right now, in the Surf Cafe Beach Club, Koca Calis,  enjoying the sea breeze and watching the kite surfers glide by on the waves. Heavenly! Two nights ago we had a fab fish meal, sea bass, here in the Surf Cafe restaurant, beautifully cooked and filleted at our table.

Last night, our wedding anniversary, we had an even better meal at the Koca Calis beach bar, last year known as Paradise Beach Bar, the previous year The Sands. Thursday night was BBQ night with a big selection of buffet style mezes, BBQed chicken and meatballs - all delicious. These two are my favourite beach bars in this string along the Koca Calis beach strip, as they each have a distinctive atmosphere (Koca Calis BB has gardens leading to the sand with tables etc laid out under canopies, and all give you the feeling of being in your own personal beach area - food can be brought to you right at the water's edge, and sun loungers are free.

Give me these beach bars every time in preference to Calis Beach. Anyway, the Dolmus's go every 5 minutes from here to Calis Beach, and in an hour or so, we might get one and eat out in CB for a bit of a change and buy a few things.

Love it all!

Very jealous, have a lovely time, wherever you eat!! Thanks Keith for the directions, realise I must have stayed in Koka Calis when I first went to Turkey, at the Sunset apartments.

Thanks, Echogirl! Right now we're sitting in the corner restaurant in the centre of C beach front. There was a live chamber group and singer at 6.30 with chairs laid out. Gorgeous sunset, too.

even more jealous, we were planning our second trip to Calis this year, but with my imminent house move , its not possible, so look forward to June next year (fingers crossed) for the next trip to our favourite place.

Kahvalti at? Koca Calls yesterday.  Suat 1881, Mutlu, now Escape at 1881. Great breakfast, but not the place it was even back 10 years ago.

Photo taken with our fabulous Nexus 7.  :)

Agreed, that area looks very sad, even the beach areas. Maybe in transition?
