A reply in a 2008 topic about things people miss from the UK

When I am in Calis I do miss cheap, nasty sliced bread for 'real' bacon sandwiches. There are a few other things I miss too that I can remember.

Bacon
Pork Sausages
Gammon Steaks
Sausage Rolls
Cornish Pasties
Cheddar cheese
Lancashire Cheese
Double Gloucester Cheese
Cheshire Cheese
Red Leicester Cheese
Brie
Wensleydale Cheese
Stilton
Morrison's Steak Pies
Pork Pies
Roast Pork
London Pride Bitter
Boddingtons
Cider
Spitfire Bitter
Decent Chardonnay
Salt & Vinegar crisps
Smokey Bacon Crisps
Roast Chicken Crisps
Ham
Sugar Puffs
Rice Krispies
Shreddies
Golden Nuggets
Creme Eggs
Galaxy Ripples
Cadburys Flakes
Fruit and Nut
Topics
Star Bars
Muffins
Crumpets
BBCi Player
Irn Bru
Croissants
Black Pudding
A whisky and coke for less than £4
Trifle
Chip shop curry sauce
Double Gloucester with onions and chives
Heinz Beans
Time Out bars
Maple and Pecan pastries
Smoked fish
Cadburys Drinking Chocolate
Maltesers
Baileys Ice Cream
Liquorice Allsorts
Fresh Cream
Cherry Coke
Extra Strong mints
Aero's
Cadburys Twirls

Apologies for the list, as I said I can only remember a few.

The one thing I miss on my holiday trips is Slimline Tonic.  It is never in any restaurants.   We also found this problem in Amsterdam just before Christmas, in fact, no one had heard of it over there.  Very strange.
