I cannot be persuaded. The £4ish I will save by not having said shave & blow dry, can go to my favourite charity. kırmızı şarap, where it will be gratefully received, no doubt  8) 8) 8)

I know someone who went to a Turkish barber for a haircut, while he was having it cut.
the barber waxed is ears, which he didn't expect, as they usualy singe them,
he said it brought tears to his eyes,

When I go I get a lovely double shave and I've had them wax my eyebrows a bit without asking,  but they never seem to use the candle on my ears. Am I missing a trick or just not deemed hairy enough? 10 lira for the shave is nothing and it's one of the few times I get fully clean shaven.

Well Phil thoroughy enjoyed his haircut, shave, ears nose, eyebrow trim, he was in there for ages and had a real pampering for £4.00.  I hear this Barber taught other Barbers the art, so he must be good.  As for the £4.00 to (wine) Charity.  We can manage some help to the 3C's (our favourite real Turkish charity) when we are over and find £4.00 extra for Phil's barber..

We dropped off quite a few very good condition items at 3Cs in July, so hopefully those helped to swell the coffers of 3Cs.

Checked my hands last night and they are still capable of giving myself a good shave and don't fancy a candle on the ear (or anywhere else) for that matter : :)  ;) :P :o

I don't actually remember moaning. I am giving a personal take on barber shop shaving, waxing various parts of the body etc, it's not for me   :)

If not conforming to the general opinion, is moaning then so be it  >:(

Whatever happened to personal choice   ;)  ;)  ;)

John went today too.
There's a price list so unlike many there's no double pricing structure.
That's because it's already double, I pay 5tl for haircut and if I had a shave (which I don't) that would be 5tl as well and free hair wash if you want it. Even a glass of wine or 2 thrown in when he has some.
Same as the locals pay. Ears nose eyebrows all done as well.
Seems your being turned over without noticing, shop around, go where the locals go.
