New bar/restaurant friendly house
« on: December 07, 2017, 16:36:14 PM »
Just opened this week dostane which translates as friendly house,  it's just off baros manco down rd opposite cahide between ay de market & carpet laundry by kelebek hotel, serving beers, wine,  raki and a few spirits,  menu has plenty of meze's most at 8tl & grills etc & a reasonable vegetarian selection,  the owner is fatama who owns the yapi store also on baros manco so service is excellent,  the chef used to work in agora restaurant,  pics below including a work in progress before it was open.
Oh & the 4th pic is me, my better half & Fatama.

It's owned by (Fat)Ali, but has been used as the 3C's depot for the past 3-4 years. Hope they've done some building work, 'cos the place leaked like a sieve   ;)

We need more places further up Baris Manco, so I hope it goes well for them.  We will give it a try when next over

I notice it's enclosed. Is smoking allowed inside?

So the rumour that the former establishment (Big Al's) was closed because the site is in a designated residential zone and didn't have permission to operate as a bar / restaurant was just a rumour then ?

Why am I not surprised ?
