Hi Christine

We will be coming over for 6 months initially, to see if settling in Turkey is for us. We didn't want to burn our bridges in UK until we were sure. If we love it, which I am sure we will we are hoping to move out.

Hi Jane,

I didn't welcome you because my browser went wonky just as I was about to type a reply ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I'm sure someone will find out the best way to get there for you.

Jayne

Like the others sorry i didn't welcome you sooner.

The site is so popular these days that it takes most of the evening to read the posts since the previous evening.

Sounds like you have some interesting times ahead.

Keeps us posted.

Hi Gordan

Thanks for your reply, interesting is not the word. We dont know whether to rent our house in the UK out whilst we are thereor just lock it up. There are so many things to think about and plan, I feel we should just get in the car and drive.

Hi Jayne

Sorry i haven't replied earleir i also miss your thread...

You can find the information you need on   www.informare.it

Click on : inforMARE fun magazine under  Services editored by...

Then click on Turkey...

According to this site there are no ferries from Bari...

It's either from Ancona or Brindisi

If you leave from Ancona it'll cut at least 6-7 hours driving time through Italy.  i know i used to live in Bari which is an hour from Brindisi...

Feel free to contact me direct if you need further information...

We are interested in driving to Turkey in May but are having problems finding information on the best route and ferry prices in Venice. If any one has done this trip or can help it would be much appreciated.

 Hi Jayne,
If you go into the website www.viamichelin.com you will be able to get the route from where you live through to Turkey to print out.
