Can anyone tell us anything about satelite tv arrangements in calis area. Do you have to have a satelite dish or can you get a digibox arrangement in calis ?

Welcome to the site Georgina and John.
Whatever do you need TV for in Calis ?. I look forward to getting away from it and just enjoying the sun, sand, sea and Efes  :)

I agree with your sentiments about the TV Roy but you would be surprised how many potential guests ask if you have TV in your villa--'it's for the kids you know'  Ken.

Yes i agree...  TV might be appealing for some people especially kids...

I was told that a sky digi box would work out there...  The only problem being you need at least a 3m dish and you still wouldn't see all the channels...

Maybe a better option would be buy a DVD / video recorder then you can watch what you want...

I have had digiturk now for a couple of years, subscription costs about 10.00 per month for a basic package. The dish and fitting back then cost about £50.00, i am sure the digiturk shops in fethiye will help you out.

BBC Prime, (Eastenders and Weakest link, that sort of garbage), BBC World, National Geographic, CNN. Cartoon Network, Eurosport, some music channels, quite a few more of the same ilk

[^] I thought that this would generate some curiosity, but there is method in the madness. It seems that the price  of digiturk is  reasonable and it certainly seems  cheaper than buying the daily paper for the news etc.  We are planning a 3-4 week break in July and our sons aged 19 and 23 may be joining us and they don't really want to be out with us all night.I think it would probably a lot cheaper to send them to the apartment to watch the telly ! Ive got a banking enquiry also in mind but that will have to come later. Thank you for all the helpful comments. Bye for now, Georgina and John.

Does anyone know if you have to enter into a years contract or can you just have it switched on and off when you are out there? Also most properties only seem to have small dishes although we have seen the odd big one.

Peto,

We have ours switched on and off to coincide with the season

I can't comment on the odd big one, he might be on later
