No, this will be our 4th visit to Calis Beach.
We have enjoyed many holidays in Turkey since we discovered just how nice the natives are about 6 or 7 years ago.
This will be our second visit to Turkey this year. We had two weeks holiday in Side at the Hemera Hotel in May and have a one week trip booked for September on a Gulet at Marmaris and this will be followed by a further week at The Marmaris Park Hotel at Ichmela.

Hi Glen and Ann

Welcome to the forum and have a great time in June.  I don't know if you've done a gulet cruise before but if not you're in for a real treat.  We have to do at least one a year.

Woops, I have boobed already, you are correct, it is July, not June.
Thank you for putting me right.

Hi there everyone. Sorry for the delay in replying to the above messages, but I have been in hospital with a heart problem, luckily the doctors are sorting me out gradually. I am now on a course of warfarin to thin my blood down also a course of Digoxin to slow my heart rate down, when I was admitted to Bedford Hospital the old ticker was racing away at 170 beats per minute and I was having difficulties breathing. It is down to 78 this week. I was fitted with a 24 hour heart monitor this last week and am now waiting for the results.
Ann and I did come to Calis Beach in July for two wonderful weeks, staying with our dear friends, Brian and Sylvia Albon. The weather was a shade too hot for Ann, so we have already booked our flights for September 2007, to stay with our friends once again.
We flew out to Dalaman Airport, from Gatwick on Monday 18 September, Gatwick was a nightmare, enormous queues everywhere, it was a good job that we had allowed 4 hours to check in, we needed it. We left home at 05.15 in the morning and arrived at Dalaman at 17.30 hours (local time). It took another hour to clear immigration and retrieve our luggage. We eventually boarded our gulet at 21.00 hours.
We had a lovely time until the Sunday when the weather changed for the worse, our gulet was certainly not a wet weather boat, she was not as big as the one we were on previously, only 10 passengers instead of 16.The trip back from Dalyan to Marmaris was horrendous, the skipper turned back once and sheltered in a small harbour for 2 hours until he tried once more. The sea was not too bad until we were about halfway to Marmaris. Half of us were soaked to the skin as it was so rough that we could not venture down below and had to remain on deck under the sun awning at the rear. Fortunately we did make it, much to the relief of the passengers and crew. At one point, the deckhand stood in the bows, looking ahead and guiding the skipper by hand signals, not very pleasant. Ann & I had a wet bed that night where the sea had come through into our cabin, not very pleasant. We left the boat on Monday morning to go to The Marmaris Park Hotel for the other week's holiday, all inclusive. It was absolutely wonderful, the hotel, the food, the amenities, everything was first class, although it does not compare with Calis Beach and our friends villa.
All for now, see some of you next year.
Ann and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
