Many of you will have heard about the ruins of the monastery at Af Kule near Kaya Koyu.
It's well worth the effort to go out there for the stunning views. I'd recommend that you go there in the afternoon as, with the sun dropping, it's cooler and you get some fantastic light.

kkob, why am I getting a message saying "image not currently available"? Can you advise where abouts this place is from when you enter the village at the Levissi. Thanks again... Sue x

Sue, these two links may be helpful to you as well. The second link on the Fethiye Times web site describes a nice walk from Kaya to Af Kule.

-

Steve B
Jen wants to know if you'll show her how to play a tune on a mosquitos tweeter !
-
very kind of you KKOB, but I would not subject anybody to the 2 year old for more than 10 minutes!! absolute monkey. I think this is something we will put back until next year, but thank you once again for the offer. Our friends are joining us for a few days in August, they may well be interested in having a walk down. Their sons are old enough to manage it.
-
Ahh... now I see what I've done (sorry everyone, I had sent out e-mails abpout my club night in brum and added KKOB to my e-mail list by accident) Yes Al, I will show when I'm over next. Its actually a Nina Simone song called 'funkier than a mosquitos tweeter' She must have been high at the time.
Anyway back on the subject before I get told off.. How long does it take to get up there to Af kule?
-
From our house it's a 10 minute drive and then a 20 - 25 minute walk.
-
I walked along the track two years ago but could not find the ruins. I did however find what seemed to be ventilation shafts into underground caves or rooms. I probably took a wrong turning somewhere.
-
Yep, you did!
Next time, if you need a guide, get in touch and I'll show you the way.
