Hi,
We have just bought an appartment in Calis/Fethiye after spending a couple of happy holidays in the area. We are looking forward to a trip at Easter and would appreciate any advice that members can offer about furnishing our appartment

You said hello 5 days ago, please make it at least a genuine welcome!
-
Welcome Jac and Fegus. Good luck with your new place and welcome to our little community

Ok, I'm not really familiar with the etiquette of discussion forums so not sure what you mean by "genuine welcome", Scunner. Perhaps you can explain?
It's been really interesting to me to dip into the topics and i'm sure I've only skimmed the surface. Is there a quick guide? Where/what is the Forum bar? What other things do members feel are essential knowledge? I've read a lot of posts about Eren Spot (my original question about furnishing our appartment) Are there other shops that members recomend/don't recomend? I looked at the Eren Spot website but it didn't seem to be that recent.
many thanks

Hi Jac,
Not directed at you :)
I was making the point that the practice employed by some members, to make 8 or 9 welcome replies to the last 8 or 9 new members in one swift go, may come across as more genuine a welcome if they took enough interest in the new member to read the thread first.
If they did so, they would have seen they had already welcomed you five days previously.
Welcome, by the way ;)

Hi enjoy CBF
I am a bloke and I hate shopping but I loved furnishing our apartment. Don't get an agent to do it unless you don't have enough time. The process of furnishing your apartment allows you the opportunity to get to know, experience and feel the Turkish way of life. It provides the opportunity to have a short term commercial relationship with Turkish business people which is very different to that experienced in touristic shops. You will be amazed how shop keepers will remember you whether you buy from them or not. Take your time, plan, prepare and compare and enjoy. You can probably fully purchase everything over 5 days.

Thanks everyone
I'm looking forward to the shopping!
