Hiya to you all. I am Lynne and my other half is Dave.  We have bought a villa in Uzumlu and hope to be living in it (full time) in July.  We have retired early in order to grab the good life, and Uzumlu was irresistible to us.

Looking forward to getting to know you all.  :D  I am sure we will have loads of questions (can think of some already.......)  [^]

Welcome Lynne & Dave, This is our last posting before we set out on the road to start our new life in Uzumlu, like you early retirees so hope to meet you there soon.

Thanks.  We can't wait to get out there.  We hope it's as good as we have imagined it will be.  GOT to learn the lingo.  It is so frustrating to meet our Turkish neighbours and not be able to say much more than Merhaba.  I have a good ear for the language but a Teflon coated brain means I forget far too much.  I DO know that our neighbour's name is Sofia.....

Welcome to the forum !  We too fell in love with Uzumlu.  We bought our house over a year ago now, but unfortunately will not be there full time for a few years yet.   Hope the move goes well, maybe we will bump into you in one of the cafes before long....  Good Luck  :)

Thanks Brian.  We absolutely love Fethiye and have spent many hours sitting outside Megri watching the world go by.  I think it was that spot that made us feel so at home that we could't resist buying.  But Burhan wouldn't sell us a table, so we opted for Uzumlu, LOL!

BTW, we are near the Pide place on the main road.  Large Pine in the garden.  Place is to be called "Old Pine Villa".
