question:
if a telsim sim card has been damamged (not to mention a phone) can the number be transferred to a new card?
Why?:
I came downstairs this morning to find Gordons' mobile at the bottom of a bowl in the sink sub-merged in water?
Dont ask! but thrice to say he will be needing an even bigger dog kennel for his belongings (minus mobile phone)!

Yes you should be able to do it but I am not certain if all phone shops can do it. When my phone was stolen I was able to transfer my old number to the new phone but not all the information in it. Let the sim dry naturally and try it in another phone first. :)

You can transfer your number, but you do have to manually transfer your contacts etc :-\ (I too had to do just that recently! no dog involved though :-\) You can also buy an external memory storer, for just that occassion. I had one...[^] offspring had nobbled it though : :) :( worth trying tribleleader's suggestion, drying it first :) good luck :)

Thanks, Brian, the sim card has dried out and works! but the phone FORGET IT!!!
We nipped into fethiye and purchased him a new phone. Now I am thinking did he do this on purpose as he never liked the old one? ummmmmmmm..
When Gordon wanted a new upto date phone before I would always say "Why do you want that? it dont do the ironing nor the washing up" maybe he was trying to see if the phone did do the washing up after all..
: :)

My turn now! The phone that I thought could do the washing-up is now perfectly O.K. and in full working order, {Loz has it now, but I've got the new one: :)}. Don't throw your mobile away if it falls into the pool or whatever, just give it a few days to dry out naturally, {NO MICRO-WAVE OVENS}.[:o)]

Who would be careless enough to drop their microwave oven in the pool?

Micro waves in the pool, havent you heard it is the newest "in" sport this year, Shown daily on the extreme sport channel, try it sometime, it is quite electrifying (so much better than fireworks) ;)
