Title: migros in Ovacik?

I heard that there is a new Migros due to open in Ovacik. does anybody know whereabouts this is and have they been yet?

Yes it in the new complex in Hisaronu, and when I went past I think it said it was opening on 1st June

loulou is dead right about Migros.

AZDA has also doubled in size.

There's a new BiM opened on the main road in Ovacik.

all good news!! saves the trip down into fethiye for the big shop! where abouts is the bim? Is it big? and does it sell electrical and household goods like Migros??

Sue,there is a bim in Fethiye and i presume it will be similar, it is not on the same scale as migros, but sells food and household products(laundry and cleaning liquids/powders etc).It is very cheap and seems to be busy with the locals.It is similar to Lidl,Aldi and Netto with most displays in boxes and trays as opposed to shelving.

There are 2 BiMs in Fethiye but they don't tend to stock electrical stuff so I doubt whether the one in Ovacik will.

AZDA in Hisaronu has got a good range of small kitchen appliances i.e. blenders, mixers etc.

I went in the Ovacik one recently to stock up on soft drinks (soo much cheaper) and they dont have electrical stuff, and does the same stuff as the ones in Fethiye.  Sue Mac, the one if Ovacik is on the main road close to the Morning Star.

apparently on a Friday they have all sorts of special offers on in BIM. My hubby went to have a look but couldn't get past the locals queuing to get in, so I reckon it must be good value! I couldn't quite lift myself off the sunlounger to go grocery shopping though!

just to let you know, we have been in the new migros at hisaronu, it opened yesterday (1st june) and is  really good... healthy comp i think for azda..?(make sure you apply for the migros card as the discounts you recieve are well worth it)

I think these shops are all excellent news for Ovacik and Hisonaru, but will this mean the area becoming a 12 month season or will these shops close like all the rest in the winter?

mmmmmmmm not sure. i think the rent covers them for a 12 month season, if it does, you would have thought they would use them?

My in laws are delighted to have Migros and bigger and improved Azda they can walk down from Ovacik and just get a taxi back up the mountain with their shopping.

Where as before they would get a taxi there and back to Gima in Fethiye -so their arrival is more convenient and saves them quite a bit of money.

Azda was open this last winter. Even New Years day.

Its on the main Hisaronu - Fethiye road, If you go towards Fethiye past the Grand Ucel on the right its about 500m further on, on the left, Its quite big you can't realy miss it.
