Hi, I've been living in Ovacik for just over a year - I was on my own in the winter (I thought the winter was brilliant) but have friends staying in the summer. I'm in the process of selling my home in England, so intend to stay here indefinately.  The only downside is leaving my family (two children and two grandchildren) and not being able to watch Yeovil Town play!!  I've only just found out about the forum - which looks like a great site - so hopefully will be contributing more and reading all about existing members.

Did you find lots to do in the winter?  I'm planning on coming over in October, hopefully renting in Calis to start off with, so any titbits of advice would really be appreciated!!!

Hello and welcome to the forum.I have the same problem with children and grandchildren,and can't leave at the moment to go over.Don't know about Yeovil town though.From a Motherwell supporter[|)] :)

Welcome to the forum. I have been living in Calis almost 4 years. I come from Frome originally but lived for a few years in Yeovil. Used to live behind the old football pitch, so could hear and see bits of the games from my bedroom..lol

Hi Heather and welcome to this forum which I know you will find really informative and helpful. I live in the UK  but I am planning the great escape for one day in the future. I will be leaving my 2 sons and beautiful grandsons behind and though I will miss them madly I will go when I get the chance

Merhaba Holley,
Glad to hear i'm not the only crazy english lady braving the delights of Turkey alone.  I'm from Bournemouth so we're almost neighbours back here.  I'm also leaving a son behind and don't yet know how i'll really feel about that.  Your a year ahead of me and i'm sure you must have some very useful tips for coping alone.  I'm planning to arrive in the Fethiye/Calis area in October and would love to get together for drink and a chat sometime, if your interested.
