Hello, My husband Mike and I are hoping to move out to Ovacik to live sometime in Sept-Oct time not sure wether to rent or buy yet Hoping to meet lots of new friends when we get out there. Regards Sue :)

Welcome to the forum. Renting can be a good option as it gives you a perfect chance to look round before you commit.

hi sue/mike a warm welcome, friends of ours rented at first for 1yr to see if they liked it then they bought and they have lived in turkey for 3yrs

Hi Sue & Mike, i didn't rent first, i bought my place for hols, but circumstances changed and i had to sell my house in England, as mentioned the best idea is to rent first, if you get settled, then go for it, if you can't then you can just walk away, at least you'll have tried it. Alan

welcome to the Forum. We are hoping to do the same, rent first so that we can look around for something to buy, and not have to keep coming back and forth. That way we will have more time to really look around and hopefully make lots of new friends too. You will find loads of help on the forum. Lots of things to search on, and some really good advise. Wish you all the luck. :)

Thanks to everyone on the forum for your warm welcome. We have been to Turkey many times over the years and decided this is were we would like to retire. We dont know really know many people in the calis area yet, look forward to meeting new friends when we move out there hopefully the end of Sept - Oct time. we will be leaving behind 2 sons which will be hard but we are looking forward to our new lives in Turkey. :)
