When we were in the UK I absolutely adored Christmas and the run up, decorating and wrapping parcels in the warm glow of a fire; if you stood still long enough in our house you to got wrapped in paper and bows, I would even go out after Christmas and stock up on the following years decorations!

I ABSOLUTELY HATE CHRISTMAS IN TURKEY (YES I AM SHOUTING) IT IS THE PITS.

Anyone got a 188" monitor I can borrow?

You don't need to buy many turkeys, only the other day I was reading about "Mature single birds in Turkey"

We are also out on the 29th dec for a week as ive said before there are 15 of us so really looking forward to it.
One thing i did try to sort out whilst over in October is our sons and their friends are football mad and wanted to organise a friendly match between anybody interested?
We did speak to Yusef the waiter from the irish bar who said he would get a team together. If anybody else is out the same time would you be interested in a friendly match, even thought we could all pay a nominal fee and it could go to charity??

I wish I was out there for Christmas. In the UK I find the big build up for one day then it's over in a flash. I d rather be in Calis whatever the weather or occasion. Role on the spring.

We were out there last year, all the shops and most of the bars were closed, apparently there was a even bigger holiday than ours there last New Year; so this year we are being lazy and just sitting in the warm eating and watching tele here in UK.

There's plenty of smaller markets open - the Turkish still need their market :D Migros and Tansas are open all year too.

Ok at least we'll be able to buy our groceries and the odd bottle of wine.  What about the dolmus?  Will they run or shall we just hire a car?  Thanks for the reply.

Dolmus runs fine. Somewhat better than the summer months as it happens but most if not all routes finish earlier at night than in season. 9-10ish.
