i am just about to buy a 125cc scooter, then had a thought i dont have a uk motorbike licence only a full driving licence. having never seen L plates in turkey does my driving licence cover me over here?

i think it does but do you know how to ride a motor bike?
its the most dangerous way of travelling

yes i do know how to ride a motor bike, must admit a bit rusty after not having one for many years anyway i only want it backwards and forwards from apartment into town(dalaman)and as i am sitting on my balcony i havent seen a car go past in the last 20mins only a lady with 3 goats:D
i still would like to know is my licence legal? :o

A point worth bearing in mind GE is that should you be unlucky to have any sort of accident involving a third party you would also have to produce the 'green' paper part of the licence as well as the licence itself. Just a point that many people overlook. Good luck with the purchase and happy riding.

Hi I'm over next week to buy 250 cc bike no full licence but been told don't need one have always hired before they only check to see if you have car  one.

Same as 747 you need a licence.

Had a good rummage round the net and found nowt to confirm this either way. Where does it actually give the details? Link?

friar my 747 is on charter in gocek so dont need a licence for that
busy polishing the helemt so i need to know about a licence for my bike:D:D:D:D

A motor bike doesn't go backwards.  If you're "going east", don't expect it to "go west" as well!! :D

My friend had an accident and the police checked off the categories to see if it was ok for a bike (either A,B or C) so it might be worth keeping that in mind.
