Title: House furnishings
Post by: ronzk1 on January 13, 2008, 21:36:53 PM
Hi everyone, we will be coming over in the next few weeks for one week to furnish our new house. we will need everything from scratch and would welcome any suggestions regarding shops, suppliers etc. we have three bedrooms but dont need wardrobes as they are built in. Is it easy to source a king size bed?

cheers,

Ronnie.

Most would start at Eren Spot in Fethiye, depends on what budget you have.

There was a website once but I can't find it these days - it was fairly useless as I think Eren Spot buy in what is  being offered as good deals at the time, so often changing.

They have good ranges of white goods, furniture and TV/electrical, best to go there and see what they have.

Eren Spot hold something that is rare on CBF, a reputation so damn good and universally agreed upon, that idiots come on and ask if we have financial interests in it - we haven't of course, but that is the level of regard they have achieved and maintained in the eyes of pretty much the entire membership who have used them.

Thanks scunner, we have bought a villa on the fethiye Calis road near the petrol station before the hospital. Do you know this area ok? The guy who sold us the property says it may be worthwhile going to Izmir for household goods as there will be a far greater range. do you think this would be a good idea given the distance?

I think you will be wasting your time. Eren Spot (other than being fantastic in our opinion) will offer you a good price, plus deliver AND INSTALL within the price....Good guys

The only Blip is if you are looking for something really fancy in regards to Sofa's etc. We decided to go to a different shop just around the corner that specialised in them as Eren Spot's range at the time was not what we were looking for.

If you are looking for Washing Machines/Cookers/Kettles/Beds/TV/DVD etc..etc then Eren Spot would be my first call

Steve

I wont turn this into an Eren Spot thread, however I cant imagine you will get any better choice or deal by schlepping all the way to Izmir! Eren will have everything you will need I bet and the delivery and if required fitting is amazingly swift!

allways ask for discount, maybe you will get it maybe you wont but ask.
you will be paying a lot of money.

If you go to anywhere else other than Eren Spot, don't forget to ask for the 8-10% discount because you have gone to them yourself, not with a "friend" who pockets that as commission for taking you there.

Learnt that one last week, with discount for "January Sale" and 8% because we walked in of the street gave us 18% of the ticket prices without even trying. They even threw in a 270YTL stainless steel (not plastic) microwave as a gift. Dearer than Eren Spot but better quality I think, after all this is for our home, not a holiday appartment or rental place.

I still would say Eren Spot would be hard to beat on prices.

Quite right too Baz.

I confirmed a long time ago, so for newer members:

The larger furniture shops pay commission to agents for bringing customers. You don't need to go to negotiate your deal, they have pretty girls who come to find you :D

Like 3%(+) commission isn't enough, you have to keep squeezing every last lira out of your customer. I told them all to shove it, hero that I am  ;)

So anything up to 20% is free to go, go alone and ask for it as your discount.

I should also point out that I know a number of agents who refuse to take commission from the furniture shops :D

Since you ask I reckon I'm pretty good  ;)

There are pages of recommendations on CBF, all the clues are here - there are some very good estate agents, believe it or not.

Ball Park figure  for furnishings - say £1000/£1250 for each bedroom ie 3 bed apartment would cost £3000/£3750 and a two bed cost about £2000/£2500 but you can spend less or more.

Its the after sales you will get from erin that is also in his favour,we arrived in Hisaronu in 2005 with no furniture in our apartment due to a fire at a shop, (or so we were told) we were taken to erin spot by a forum member that i had met on here and within 2 hours he had delivered all our white goods and installed them for us, try doing that at home
