I'm bored to death with it all

I apologise Mr. Roofer [:o]
Apparently Aura Bar is the place to go for Karaoke types :)

We went to a Turkish night at the Kevansaray (spelling might be wrong) in Kaya. They had several different kinds of dances including belly --male and female.
Really good night

Yes, Kavansaray is excellent, traditional buffet as well, I seem to remember it was about £15 per head, a great evening.

Have to say if we went in a place and noticed the imminent arrival of belly dancers we would be doing an exit stage left pretty sharpish! Though I completely understand if people havent seen one before . But its one of those' seen one seen them all ' scenarios! 8)

Wierd I didn't see any belly dancers whilst in Calis last August! We only did the seafront bars/restaurants plus a few others and Scarletts of course. As it was my first trip there I asked one of the waiters where I could see belly dancing and he dutifully obliged for me! Apart from that though haven't seen any and we were out every night for two weeks! Saw whirling dervishes and salsa dancers at Scarletts though which made up for it. :)

dont mind the belly dancer nights at all ... at least its `semi` turkeyish attempt at entertainment. Unlike the beer swigging karaoke brit nights, killing the music whilst trying to impress ther drunken friends ughhhhhhhhhhh
mind you I will pass on the male belly dancer ugggggggggghhhh , even the women find it a bit ugghhhhhhh
-
the male belly dancer i seen i would not ugghhhhhhhhhhhhh at bloody gorgeous, all the women could not keep their hands off him
-
I was informed that the female belly dancer at Kaya Park, when we went 2 years ago, was a Russian girl. She was gorgeous but I was disappointed she wasn't Turkish as there are many who are equally or more gorgeous and since Belly Dancing has it's roots in the 'Middle/Near East' (or so I'm given to understand) it kind of looses something when not the real deal.
Don't let that put you of though because it's still a very entertaining spectacle (when performed by the fair sex!)

As I understood it belly dancing was supposed to be done by women for women. It was good form of exercise for maintaining the reproductive organs in a healthy way before and after childbirth and for the benefit of the man too. Its been adopted from the Middle East probably Egypt by the Turks and is sometimes viewed as a slutty mode of dance for entertainment purposes only by some people. Although I have to agree fascinating and mesmerising when done properly.
