Forget the dolmus threads (that's old news :P)
We're getting a Taxi rank :o:D
The hut is virtually finished (outside area being tiled today)
I'll keep you all posted on when it becomes operational.
It's about 30yds up from Platin apartments (on the central reservation)
Deliktas has moved into the 21st Century :D:D

Where is your apartment in Deliktas? Ours is called Elegance and we are going there in April to furnish it. We are new at this so forgive me if I sound a bit dumb!!

We're in Elegance 2, we could be neighbours!!
GB - Turn right out of Zeki Baba, walk up past Gokce apts, keep going up the hill, taxi rank is about 100yds up the road.

Ta chewy - one block begins to merge in with another, especially in the heat. Wow it's all beginning to take shape out there. Fantastic.

We are Elegance 1. Wow!!! I am so glad to have found someone near us!!! We have been to Turkey three times before and bought the apartment last August but are coming out with my parents in April. We are really nervous about it but excited as well. Any advice you can give would be gratefully appreciated. What do we do about maintaining the pool and gardens etc?

Cor blimey we are in Elegance 1...I know we owe chewy a wave when we are over in May nice to say Hi Jayne. We are in B block first floor. As for maintenance we had our "what shall we do for the best" scenario last year and the final consensus was we stick with Tufan. I don't know what happens with Elegance 2 but as many of us that could got together and decided that the devil you know etc. If you have any other questions about Elegance 1 we are happy to try and answer them, But if it is Turkey in general I think Chewy he da man!! Ours is the apartment with the stripey blue verandah curtains on the first floor.
By the way Chewy you are doing a grand job, it is jsut graet to get in from work and know the place is getting better and better. Thanks Joe & Sue

We are just up the hill in Forest Hills and chewyturk is doing a grand job!
A TAXI rank wow things are on the up.
Happy Mondays (doug and angie ) are up there too and we have met Joe and Sue who just posted so there is quite a community here from the UK during holiday times.
The area had a big face lift past few months with new roads,drains,dolmus route etc and word has it that it will be quite an upmarket area of Fethiye in the future.
Hope to see some of you in May(unsure of dates yet)

Hi Guys
Our apartment in Elegance 1 is ground floor on the left as you walk up the steps! Have not done anything before like this so will need a few pointers on maintenace fees etc and will basically go with the flow. Do you guys live there all the time? We will be letting the apartment out hopefully but will also be there some of the time. Our kids want to go with their friends too. Can't wait and I am now really excited about going in April. It feels great knowing that I have you guys to ask advice etc about it and that you are neighbours.

we use our place only about twice a year at the moment as we both work.
We are very house proud of our place and havent entered the rental game at all as its ours and we keep it for family or close friends we know. We wouldnt want strangers in the place and you hear terrible stories of renters trashing places and treating them like rubbish.The rental idea isnt for us and luckily we dont need the small rental income to survive.

We have just bought an apartment in Deliktas(last October) the Platin so we will definately be using the taxi rank!!
We are coming at the end of March for 2 weeks so see you then 8) 8)
Would be grateful for any tips you can give us.

Hi Janice! Welcome to 'The Valley' - like most have said! We too have seen some drastic changes - and when we bought - there were hardly any apaprtments up at all!!! Our place was just a plot! We are in the Green Valley Complex. We bought in 2005 - and love it there! We have met some lovely people and made some great friends there (and not just on our complex) and we have a few stories to tell (eh Bruce???).

Our apartment is just behind the Green Valley, we are coming out on the 13th April for 1 week, we usually hire a car but now that we have both a bus & taxi rank i don't think we will bother. It would be nice to meet up with a few of you who live nearby and say hello over a beer or two. Cheers, Niall & Leasa

Hi to all.
We are in Elegance 1 B block and would welcome any discussion or if we can give help to any new people. We have been out to Turkey some 10 times over the last two and a half years and really enjoy the area. Have also toured around a lot including Ephesus, Cappadocia, Termessos, Aphrodisias, Hierapolis, Permacula and many others. Have many photos, Video, so if you want ideas drop me a line.
The maintenance issue with Tufan was a real pain last year and tried to get people together to get Tufan to drive down the cost. We got a bit of a concession and the price is the same this year. Would welcome correspondance with anyone who wants to form a residents group for Elegance Apartments. (send email to REMOVED)
Great area now we have roads and transport.
Out again at the end of April, Mid June and late August.

Have a fantastic time - and let us know how things are when you get back! There has been so much happening there in the area! We will not be hiring a car in June - we will try the Dolmus and taxis - and see how it all compares. We have got used to the luxury though of getting in a car as and when - like trips of an evening into Hisaranou and Olu Deniz, doing trips out etc - and going to Migros - so we will see!

kirby,great minds think alike.we have decided not to go with a car this time as well.that will be fun? i'm sure.At least we don't have to walk down to the main road now for a taxi.Have a great time GB and take some piccies of the area for us.Can't wait to see all the changes.

We only hire a car for a couple of days each week the rest of the time we walk/dolmus. I'm looking forward to seeing the improvements- will definitely take some pictures for you - I know how they can give a little lift whilst you are waiting for your fix of Turkey. Anyone passing GV complex, give me a wave on the balcony in the top right as you look at the front.

We are in The Green Valley Complex .... bought off plan - it was a mere patch of dirt when we first saw it - so that's how long ago! hahaha. We love it there. Next over June 20th for 2 weeks.

Came back from Deliktas last Friday, had a great time shopping for furniture for our new apartment!! Used the taxi rank, can't praise it enough it is just up from your apartment Amanda, we met Liz and Harry as you said a loveley couple, had a few drinks with them whilst we were there and I am sure will have many more in the months and years to come!! :) :)

That would be great - meeting up for a few efes! That's what it's all about!!! Understand you met GB. They have an apartment in the same block as us in fact we have the duplex on the bottom - and we have never met! Scot and Brenda his wife - we meet up with - and we do have a few beers!!! Fantastic couple!!!! Scot has a very loving relationship with a young TREE in our gardens!!! but that's another story - and he has the scars to prove it! hahahahahaha Looks like we are going to miss them this time!!! That's a real shame!!!! Like I say we are out 20th June - keep in touch and we will arrange a shindig!

Brenda and Bruce really smashing people. We all first met when we were out at the same time with the same agent furnishing our Deliktas appts. As a Scottish/Irish meet-up we had the odd shandy! Hope you are both well.

Hi Kirby, look forward to meeting you in June, keep in touch. One thing we noticed when there was the quietness during the day. Very peacefull, a pleasant change, it was great. We also discovered that the dolmus service does not operate on Sat or Sunday. During the week its only 1.25 ytl each - every hour - brilliant.

Looking forward to meeting up - and rest assured - I will keep in touch!!! Cannot believe that it is only 8 weeks Friday till we go!!!! You know you said it was quiet there at the moment - well that will change when we get there hahaha - no seriously - I know what you mean - the building noises perhaps????? What a shame thje dolnus does not run on Saturday or Sunday! We will have to make sure we arrange Taxis then for them days!!!! Will have to get hold of Mustafa.... Can remember the first time we met up with 'Scot' - what an experience that was eh Bruce? Poor Brenda - how the hell she puts up with you hahahahaha. We have all said that putting all our problems re buying there aside - we have been really privelidged to meet some really lovely people (except Scot!!!! - only jokin!!!!!!) - and have made decent friends with a few too!!!!! That in itself makes buying in Turkey all worth while!

Saoirse have you been corrupting Bruce - you coming from Belfast and all - I can just imagine it! hahahaha - no it is more like him corrupting you ....... I bet that was a scream - you two together..... I cannot believe that we will miss each other by a week! As I say - we go out 20th june - Steve will miss you both! Sam sends her love as well by the way - as does Simon! We next plan on going out first 2 weeks in September..... so just a few days earlier than last year. We are getting a proper little community going out there now eh?
