Title: Tourist Visa
Post by: Susi on March 14, 2008, 09:29:36 AM
I see from the front page of the Fethiye Times that the authorities are clamping down on "overstaying their tourist visa" at Kas.
People use the Kas to Meis to renew their visa. My question, not having done it myself is - Do you go before it runs out and will it be renewed from the date of re-entry?

 :)

Yes it is 90 days. Signs are now displayed stating that the new law states that if you overstay your visa you cannot re-enter Turkey for 3 months.

Here is a good link for working out your 90 days:

You might be OK because the girl in Yesil Dalyan told me that 'apparently' you don't count the 1st day! So you might be lucky?

Lynne, we have the same problem.  Coming out on 4th August for the month, then back out in October, returning (hopefully) on 2nd November.  If both the 4th August AND the 2nd November are included, it will be 91 days.  Can anyone confirm whether this would count as 90 or 91 days.  Don't want to sound mean, but I don't want to pay an extra £50 for the five of us if we don't need to!  Thanks, Julie

We came out on 22 May and on our next visit return on 21 August.  What do you think?

Well, you will have to pay as you'll need to get back out of Turkey, which will be AFTER the 21 August, which is already your 91st day (92nd if you count both the 22 May and 21 August).  At least you'll get your money's worth if you stay for a couple of weeks!

This has been a very useful thread. Can anyone please tell me where your passport is stamped with a new visa when arriving in Fethiye from Rhodes?

One of my numpty sons is coming over after a lads holiday in Kos and ferrying from Kos to Rhodes and then Fethiye. So, apart from the visa does anyone have any tips i.e. what not to do and the 'must do' bits?

Tell him that as this is a Muslim country he's only allowed to drink alcohol from 03.30 to 03.45 on the 5th Sunday of the month if accompanied by his Dad's only son.
