I'm a newbie to this forum (thankfully not to the area though). We always stay in Oludeniz and either eat there or in Hisaronu. Could anybody recommend any good restaurants in Fethiye (preferably with directions!).
Thanks guys :D
-
I'll start it off with "the Duckpond"in the old part of Fethiye, right in the middle next to ,guess what?the duckpond.Always had good meals there.
-
Cafe Oley
-
Try Pasha Kebab. Opposite Fortis Bank, and near to the entrance to pas patur
and duck pond.turkish food at reasonable prices
-
Megri Lokantasi just a bit down the road from Pasa Kebap is also great for a good selection of Turkish dishes.
-
Didn't rate the duck pond at all, for numerous reasons one of them being,my son ordered sweet and sour chicken" i know not very turkish" it came, chicken with tomatoe ketchup on top, mmmm nice, such a shame, I think they take advantage of their surroundings and position in the area, never going again, Bee
-
I think it is rubbish too. Nice pond though.
-
:)Funily enough, we always pop in there to see Mehmet, and have a drink, only eaten there once and it was crap, ;)
-
Ordered garlic prawns at duck pond and wasn't impressed. Not enough Garlic and the prawns were so so. I would always have the Garlic prawns from the Megri Restaurant though. They are very good. Though am I alone in thinking it wasn't quite as good there last year? I had a lousy spag bol, it was full of parsley. Next time I asked for it without the parsley and it still wasn't up to the standard I am used to there. Put me right off. ANy feedback on this would be appreciated.
Anyway, I also rate Pasa Kebab and Cafe Oley. Nefis Pide is also worth a visit.
I like Boazici and Seraphane too though they are more 'special'
-
:) I agree with you on the Megri, it has'nt been the same since it moved over the road, will be trying Pasa next week, heard good reports on that one, ;)
-
had a meal one evening at the duck pond, meal was mediocre, and bitten to death by mozzie's.
once bitten twice shy
-
How can you be bitten to death if you were only once bitten?:D The Duck Pond used to be very good two or three years ago but now it ranges between mediocre and poor......great location for a beer at lunch time though. :)
-
The Arena, just outside the paspatur overlooking the fountain. Cracking view of the harbour and good food. The only downside I've found is that the service can be a bit hit and miss.
-
talking about ponds try the italian restaurant with the little pond in the middle (cant remember the name) excellent food and service try the spring rolls for your starter but be carefull of one of the dips its the hottest tasting thing you can find around anywhere(i love it)
dennis
-
Denniz you mean the IL Fiore this is one of our favourite restraunts in Fethiye along with the Arena who do an excellent Chatau Briand but I agree the sevice is a bit hit and miss, if you call in at lunch you can ask them to prepare a table for that evening up the 2nd flight of steps which is private and as amazing veiws.

Twice we called in lunchtime to reserve a table for the evening and twice they forgot!
On the plus side though we didn't have to wait too long for a table and they gave us complimentary drinks as compensation:D

i often go to the Çira&gan Restaurant, its next door to the Vestal electric shop, just round from the Pasa Kebap restaurant opposite a Turkcell phone shop, food very nice and reasonably priced too.
-
we tried a really nice restaurant that has just opened at new year. It was just after the Arena, you walk a little way along towards the ampitheatre and it is up some steps & looks like a house, it was right on the corner over looking the harbour - food was great
-
We had a great time at the Address Restraurant last year. Good food reasonable price, friendly and helpful staff, live entertainment and lovely views over the harbour.
Well worth a visit. :)
-
Oh Laffa, there are 2 Megri's. The restaurant is in the middle of the Paspatur where the leather shop, coffee shop and rug shops are, by the fountain, it is this one I thought had gone down a bit in quality.. The Megri Lokantasi is by the main road, I like it there but never went there when it was over the road, They moved in 2003 and I have only eaten there since the move.
Yes, we like the Pasa Kebab too. It's good to hear others recommendations. It gives us somewhere to try in the future.
-
Hi John, We had great meals at the Address last year too. Unfortunately Billy moved to the Han in Calis later in the season, so the Address closed up soon after. Cathy

Thanks for the info Cathy. Such a shame, it was a lovely spot for a restaurant
-
:DWish that bloody Billy would keep stilll. ;)cant keep up with him.:P
-
why eat in paspatur? you are going to pay tourist prices for tourist rubbish [other than the cafe oley and a couple of turkish food restaurants]]
recommend the 'oludenis lakantasi' [the yellow cafe..opposite the otogar. good food and plentiful.
-
I'll second that, food is brilliant
-
:)If its the same one we went to they do the best spicy lentil soup, ;)
-
True the Paspatur prices are higher, but we like people watching there. It's hungry work. We don't eat there all the time though.....
-
We do a mixture paspatur, harbour etc - all the lokanti opposite the otogar are worth a try - we love OluDeniz lokanti but it is not exactly pleasant views so be prepared for that, if you like watching busses then this is the place to be!
-
We'll all have to meet up there sometime.Met steve 49 there last year!
-
gorgeous bird... all so true. but it's great in the rush hour.. watching and wondering how 15 people don't die there every day!
mind you... new bus station now i believe, maybe they have changed the entrance/exit now?.
sorry i spelt oludeniz wrongly...i don't have a 'z' on my keyboard.....
-
Definitely Pasa Kebap and Nefis Pide. Also we love Meis Pizza great at lunchtime for Pizza and jacket potatoes to die for and reasonably priced and also great service for a fast food type place.

Agreed - we like it- just to see local life going on. Chaos - it's great.

Both the Marina and Tadim are really nice. Tadim is behind The small supermarket in fethiye (carrefour) and the Marina is 300/400m further along. We ate at the Ata park hotel in Fethiye which is a fair way along the harbour road so get a cab and jus tell the driver.Food is to die for and atmosphere is lovely. Little more expensive than most but worth every penny. Not great 4 kids though. For a less formal meal there is a smashing place called Cafe Park in Fethiye with a nice ambience and very cheap but great quality. Menu not extensive but enough choice for everyone. Owners (Tyfun and his girlfriend, Laura) are hospitable. If you get off Dolmus at the big Mosque in Fethiye and walk away from the Mosque leaving it directly behind you its about 5 min walk on the left. Its set on a corner. Be warned Fethiye is very hot and humid at night, Hisaronu is considerably more cooler and comfortable.I do however love Fethiye x
-
Ok, been visiting Fethiye since 1990 and the only place I will eat down there is Nefis Pide. Typical Turkish Lokantasi, just next to the old mosque, right in the heart of Paspatur. Cheap and cheerful. Head waiter (cena) looks like a slightly larger and older version of Eric Cantona (looked a lot more like him in his younger days!! Service excellent. prices excellent. choice of food - limited, but what comes, comes fresh hot and tasty!! The soup is to die for - my old Dad (god rest his soul) used to just order two bowls of soup every time we ate there - as it is absolutely delicious. wholesome and CHEAP. I have recently discovered how to make it and am delighted with my endeavours!! The mushrooms in the oven are delicious, and my hubby swears by the Iskender there. Personally you can keep your duck pond and other tourist traps. Nefis for us any day..

hi,
Sharonc,we just back to manchester from fethiye last weeek with my family, and the best restaurant is 'Pasha Kebap', just opst HSBC BANK, we've been there 3 times in one week. you will be injony it.
-
i recently tried the 'Melodi Bar' which is in the row of bars very near Vals Bar and the culture centre. i have never been there before but must say that the food was excellent.i admit that i am no gourmet and tend to judge on simple things...such as are the eggs actually cooked and are the chips real chips. Excellent on both points. Could not find a fault with the meal. Top Class.
