The conversion rate shown on this Forum is 2.47 but most other conversion sites are now quoting 2.58 Coinmill.com site quotes 2.47 so is there a problem with the Coinmill/CBF rates? :)
-
We must be charging too much commission ;)
You are right though, it is 2.581 on the one I generally work by. I will ask JohnF, he knows everything :) I'm creeping because he is helping me with something else :D

It might be the difference between the Tourist rate and the real exchange rate. The latter is usually quite a bit higher.

No it was a glitch.....Coinmill looks as though it is back in sync now. :)

And definitely don't use the guy outside the clothes shop.He tried to pull the trick, discussed elsewhere on forum, on me, of asking for some small change, which I gave him, and then short changed me. He got very angry when I challenged him, but eventually gave me what he owed. It was only a few lira, but...

Coimill uses several sources for its rates, the most popular being Bloomberg and the IMF. Any glitches with *actual* rates are down to the data providers as opposed to Coinmill themselves. Like any application that relies on external data, there are going to be times when its not quite as accurate as we'd like; although fortunately, it appears to have rectified things fairly quickly.
If anyone has access to (or knows about) a more accurate (free!!!) currency feed then feel free to either email me direct or post details here.
