Title: Is the law as daft as a brush?

A group of gypsies have complained to Northamptonshire police about an episode of Basil Brush, in which "Dame Rosie Fortune", a lady in a colourful headscarf tries to sell Basil some pegs & a sprig of heather. They reckon it's an offensive caricature. The stereotype has been compared with that in the Black & White Minstrel Show. Northamptonshire police have taken the complaint seriously, recorded it as a race hate crime & gone after the BBC for answers.

Can't be much other crime in Northamptonshire then??
