Title: sewing/alterations
Post by: suzi Q on April 01, 2008, 11:51:43 AM
Would anyone know where I can get some sewing done.
Bringing over two bed sets and the valance sheets are too long for Turkish beds. Anywhere, calis or fethiye and done within the week please.

There is a fantastic lady in the shop opposite the Shine, just after Aries Hotel, Very cheap, and also fantastic dress maker, or should I say her son is; if you go in with a picure they can make a replica of any outfit you want.

That's the one Suzi Q... she used to be in Hisaronu and I got loads of things made by her a few years ago there.
She's ok at understanding (she may be better now it was some time that I went, and my Turkish was minimal then)... but a picture always helps

Hi Suzi Q, yes thats the one, the woman does not speak english, but her son speaks a little, but even so they managed to communicate with me, and understood what I wanted. She is making my wedding dress, its not a big elaborate one, it is a simple "tasteful" little thing (well not so little), I will model it for anyone who is there in September. 8)

Can l presume that she does alterations to clothing as well as doing stuff from scratch.  Have bought a dress and want the sleeves taken out to make it sleeveless

There's a fantastic little old man in Gunlukbasi that does alterations - Reasonable prices & if you take it in in the morning he could have it done by the evening, he's excellent!
His shop is not very noticeable but its just before the supermarket, not far from the cake shop

Not as cheap as he used to be, think he's also caught on that if your not Turkish he can get away with charging more.:-\
