Title: Fethiye Sport
Post by: Gorgeous_bird on April 05, 2008, 21:48:21 PM
I am coming out to Fethiye next Friday with a friend, Nick has started asking "what are you bringing back for me as a holiday gift" He wants a Fethiye Football shirt. Can I get one in Fethiye and if so where? Is there a shop at the ground?

You will find it hard to find a Fethiye shirt, dont know if they sell them at the ground but there is an Adidas shop round the corner from the finans Bank which sells football shirts, we got 1 for our son last summer twas a Fenerbache shirt good quality and the real macoy.

Yeah you will probably only get a fenerbaçe or galatasary shirt.  Dont think there is a Fethiye football team but then again you never know.  Anyone want to start up 5 a-side footy - come on all you fit ladies out there! Lets start a team up!

Amie - that is good to know - I am coming over with my 25 yr old son in November and he likes the unusual (understandable as he is a Man City fan!!). We are really looking forward to spending some quality time together - just the 2 of us - and he has specifically asked if we can take in a couple of "local" games - so I will call at the office in May and get fixtures and treat him to a shirt!

Thanks - Ian  :)

Gunlukbasi pitch is used by a local team, no pro football there im afraid, good for a run around if your feeling energetic.

Yep - got all the info - I will call in at the stadium office to try and get one, failing that i will visit the adidas shop in town to see if they have one and failing that - well I will just have to come up with an alternative prezzie idea.

Keith, maybe you should insist that forum members are required to read AND write and not just one or the other. Pete  ;)

gorgeous Bird... the office in the stadium is out of stock for a while i checked last night. there is also a very small shop on the street behind vals bar (more or less directly behind the culture centre) which sells them. not easy to find but it is there!

BBB, Thanks for that info - you are a gent and a scholar! So all I need now is info on where the culture centre is or vals bar and I am sorted, I am based in Deliktas and I am blonde so all directions should take into account these two factors:D

The culture centre is the bright blue building almost adjacent to where the harbour does a right angle (one way heading parallel to the Carrefour main street, the other goes sort of Calis way) - and Val's Bar is in the row of bars heading Calis way.

GB - it might be easier if I let you get one for my son as well!  :)

Ps: By the way - can I say that I drove around Deliktas in March and I genuinely thought it was a really nice area - a good blend of local community and tourists with enough shops around within walking distance and close enough to everywhere to be central!

Yes but BORING! Ian I would be more than happy to get one for your son - no joke. You let me know what size and if I can get one I will. You are a nice northern gentleman and I am a nice northern lady (I suspect from the wrong side of the pennines though) but hey.

You can PM me or email me via my web page shown when you click on the little house above my post.

Thanks for the directions Scunner I thought it was the bright blue building but didn't think it looked very cultural!! I will check out the bar on my way to the nice restaraunt you posted pictures of the otehr week. :D

GB - my son is probably extra large - but as he plays football every Saturday and is quite fit I suppose I should check!

All I know is when he takes his shirt off to put his football top on - I look at him and think "where did he get that body from!!"
(I think it's a combination of Sport / Drink and Good Living at 25!)

I am not sure how we would handle the exchange and if you are from the other side (Yorkshire) it is not safe for anyone from God's Own County (Lancashire) to go across the hill's!

I would be interested to know if you manage to get one????

Would be good to form an orderly queue outside the shop if we are over at the same time  :)

Ian

I am out from friday 11th April - so get his size and I will try and get him one when I get Nicks. As for crossing the pennines, makes me shudder just to think of such a thing. But I live in Northampton so I can post it instead :)

GB..easiest way to find the shop is to ask one of the waiters in the Kral restaurant where it is. the Kral is again in the street behind vals. easiest way is to walk down the harbour to the culture hall..keep walking straight past the hall which will be on your right...don't turn towards calis.... the street is the next left after the hall...Kral down on the right.

GB - I can't believe it - (Victor Meldrew style!!) - I have spoken to James and he tells me: "I need to try it on - it is a fashion item - it has to sit properly - I might be large but I might be extra large - but you can't just buy it"

I thought it was a football shirt!

Thanks anyway - let me know how you go on.

Ian  :)

No problem - worth asking him though, we don't even know what colours they play in so not only might it not fit but it might not go with his hair/eyes/trousers:D

I am rubbish - i couldn't find Vals bar or the shop, I did ask in one shop in that sort of area (which I hardly knew existed)and he said only in the stadium so 3 cans of efes (1 burst in the case and now it stinks like a pub) has had to do as the pressie!! In truth i spent most of my time taking care of my friend who is truly gorgeous and turned heads wherever we went - it was a nightmare. On Friday as we were in fethiye looking one last time for a shirt, I think it must have been a sort saints day (Mustafa??) and she was deluged with free roses.

Yes that will be it, Saint Mustafa's Day :D

Your friend got all the roses GB? What's happened, have you let yourself go since your page 3 days?

I was trying to say a sort of saints day but not quite knowing the Muslim equivelent - you knew what i mean. I am afraid the years have not been kind to me. As we were dropped at Dalaman the security guys scanned our bags and decided that Anne's bag needed further investigation! She proceeded to unlock her bag whilst they proceeded to chat her up, whilst I proceeded to hold her hand luggage. Unbeleivable. "How old are you" they asked - "it's rude to ask a lady how old they are" she replied. "I am 49" he said - "Do you think I look good for 49" She was then conned into telling them she was 46 and they all nodded with great approval - they forgot t look in her bag and we then had to struggle to get it closed again.- Hhhmmm - Note to self - go on a diet, get to the gym, inner gorgeousness takes time to identify:D
