Title: water tank problem - Help
Post by: sugarybaba on April 07, 2008, 17:09:14 PM
Our apartment has developed another leak on the roof which we assume is a problem with the tank and/or the heater switch
We have had this "fixed" three or four times in the past 2 years by plumber/electricians and is costing us tons of dosh !!
Does anyone know an expert in this field pref english speaking who can fix it once and for all ???  Also should this problem be referred back to the original builders (who will probably shrug their shoulders and say that its nothing to do with them )  Any help would be appreciated Ta

We have had this problem with our solar systems.  The builder installed all singing, all dancing new systems.  They were rubbish!  One by one, we are all having to replace them.  I suspect you are right about the builder but certainly worth a try!

If (when) your builder takes no responsibility, speak to the Alarko shop - it is now on the road up through Tasyaka. The guy there is very helpful and speaks good English. He sells solar systems but may take a look, if not he'll know a man who can.

A lot of the problems with ball cocks and immersion heaters are caused simply by corrosion and build up of scale due to the high mineral content of the water here, but you should get about three years use before they go kaput because of this. :)

Why don`t you just buy a new tank, they only cost approx 75 Lira fitted.
