I may be the newest member here, but I've been living in Turkey and coming and going to Fethiye and Üzümlü for over 20 years (I'm looking for an old and decrepit smiley...)  I'm basically an English teacher, but since I've been here I've branched into teaching Turkish, and now I've taken over the Çmlik restaurant, on the right as you enter Üzümlü.  Other interests include birds and wildlife in general (which makes me less than a friend of this proposed cement factory...)

Welcome to our lovely valley, we live across the valley in Bucak. Will call in to see you as we are both very interested in nature, it will be lovely to chat about the local birds & wildlife. Isn't it a brilliant time of year with all the trees coming into leaf & different bird species arriving daily :D You can hear them welcoming the new breeding season. WONDERFUL. Looking forward to a good restuarant in Uzumlu as 'some' are of the others are a bit hit & miss depending on if the regular chef is there or not. Elaine & Dave

Hi Alec Welcome to the forum, it is never too late to introduce yourself. we all have in common a love of this part of the world.  Must visit Uzumlu one day as I do know some people there. Hope you continue to enjoy being in Turkey.

Hi Alec and welcome to the forum.  Also in Uzumlu (part time unfortunately !) and will definitely pop into Camlik on our next visit  (meant to last week, but time just seemed to whizz past).
