i heard a rumour that uk driving licences will not be accetable for people with residency for driving in turkey and therefore you need to apply for turkish one (at great cost!). I am taking it with a pinch of salt for now, but has anybody else heard of this? :)
-
Can't answer that question but I have one of my own! I have just realised that I have an old paper UK driving licence does anyone know if I can get a picture one though thr British Consulate in Fethiye!
-
We have been informed by a friend who works for the Jandarma on traffic duty that all you need is to have a translation of your UK driving license and have it notarised. Not sure what the cost is but does anyone else have an idea.
-
Kathryn you can change your licence on line you do not need to send a photo or signature this can be taken from your passport info. Not sure if you can get it delivered to Turkey. http://www.dvlni.gov.uk/drivers/about_photocard.htm

:)would have thought the olod paper one would suffice, so long as it has the relevent info on, and how would they know if you were a resident or not, .......................... if its not fixed dont break it, ;)
-
You can't have a new licence posted to Turkey. It must be sent to the UK address at which you maintain an address. The DVLC will not accept a foreign address as your home address.
The old paper licences aren't acceptable. (or the olod ones either !)

Thanks for the info guys you really are quite useful! Don,t know why I didn't join years ago!! Will apply on line and get it posted out. :)

Now a £1000 fine if you don't swap your paper licence for a photocard one by a certain deadline.
