HI, very new member, just the dark side of forty, married with two relatively easy to please children (10 & 12) Coming out to Calis end of may for a week, 1st time back in turkey for 18yrs, loved it then but as i was nearly eaten alive by the mossies (? late nyts..) decided to give it a miss whilst the kids were younger, staying at ozcem appts, only read 1 review but it looks nice. Anyway, if you don't mind me asking, what should we not miss whilst there, what to definately avoid, are turkish baths suitable for kids as ours was very gruelling as i recall! Will i find the sunday market and that should do for starters. many thanx Mari :-\

To answer one part:
You are right about the previous mozzie situation - 4 years ago I would be responsible for banishing around 4 or 5 of the pesky little blighters from our house each evening. Nowadays, 1 or 2 a week is more normal - one hell of an improvement.
You do seem to get certain places that get quite a few all at the same time, but I couldn't say it is one bar or restaurant, just any one now and again on a very random basis. It's rare too, but all you have to do is move on if it happens to you!

Hi :) I stayed at the ozcem apartments last year with my family and we are staying there again this year. They are lovely so rest assured! :)

I'm re-assured, tx. No doubt will get to the sunday market, but roughly how far away is it, walkable? Also, how long is the walk into Calis, so i can preparemy intrepid offspring! Mx

One of the first things you see as you enter Calis is the dolphin roundabout, then all the bars and restuarants down to the ses, but if you walk away from the sea, you walk to another roundabout, turn right at the roundabout and walk 5-10 mins, on your left you will come to the cafe pazar, stop for a drink and the loo, cos you are at the Sunday market, fairly expensive drinks and no loos. When you walk out of ozcem apartments turn left when you come to main road walk for about 5 minutes and market is there. Now i am concerned about ozcem:( they were fine last season i went end of august with hubby and kids. This year going again with extended family. Can anyone shed any light on the condition please?

My aunt is considerably more fussy than us, however, she has now booked us into the cem appts, sure she will relate the details as i think she's a member on cbf. When we have been to the sunday market i shall go and have a look myself. Being an optimist 8) i kinda assume it's just a bit early in the season etc but don't want to wasre my hol finding out the hard way. On the pessemistic side it did occur to me that £62 for four, 4 a week was a very keen price.....
Thanx for directions mari
