Work was well underway yesterday in refurbishing the Calis bridge. New wooden railings and new steel floor for the footbridge were being put into place, so no more danger of falling through into the river!
-
That great to hear Phil,it would have been a shame not to have done that when all the work to the shops and road etc along there look so good now.

great news Phil

Just been in Calis, the bridge is almost completed, well the right hand side as you approach the beach area. It is being surfaced with thick wooden slats, over a NEW metal framework, with really chunky wooden handrails, Loz will add photos later, but looks really good, not before time though!!

Erm no, not particularly :D Using my expertise I can probably tell you how many years you can expect the wood to last before it goes rusty ;)

What makes me happy is that the Belediye have obvioulsy decided to invest some money back into the area. You watch - next it will be the beach ;)
-
It is all very symbolic bridging communities together as well as the land and sea, sort of!
I was always expecting to see a troll there - it had that specail appeal. I dont expect it has lost it even if it has been upgraded.

I noticed the bus in the picture, I thought they had paved the road before the bridge and made it for pedestrians only?
