Welcome Sue,
Don't know about Akyaka (never been there) but 100% of people who come to Calis love it (source: CBF Vague Polls Limited).
Summer Apartments are very nice indeed, and very close to the beach and prom.
I'm sure you will love it :D

Sue, I have not been to Calis but I am very familiar with the area. you will find a lot more to do than in Akyaka with plenty of night life, Fethiye is the nearest large town
and a great place to visit with its rock tombs, Ampitheatre, plenty of shops, good restaurants and snow capped mountain backdrop.
Calis is a lot nearer to a lot of the ancient sites than Akyaka with Tlos,, Saklikent, Patara (17 miles of beautiful white sands), Xanthos, Kaya,The Dalyan Delta, Letoon, Kalkan and Cas
all within a couple of hours drive by coach or dolmus and of course Oludeniz ( the most photographed beach in Turkey is near by)
You will get a more rounded view of Turkey than you will in Akyaka.
Hope this helps 8)

Hi Sue. I last went to Akyaka in 2004, stayed at Yucelen hotel.Although we really enjoyed our holidays there it is not the same kind of place as Calis. ave been to Calis at least 7 times and of the 2 I love Calis more.Missed the sunset in Akyaka but in Calis it is fantastic, just to sit at one of the bars on the beach road watching the sun go down, it's magical. Also the boat trips from Calis are great fun. I don't htink you will be dissapointed with your choice.
