Title: Anyone heard about Residence Permit fees increases
Post by: lindacarl on July 06, 2004, 00:18:20 AM
Hi All
Has anyone heard about large increases in the fees for Residence.

Dave (our friend) came back Today & he told us that he was told by a number of people that within 2 months the fees were going up considerably for UK residents.

Anyone in the know?

Linda

A friends of ours said it had increased from £78 to something like £700-£800, he had missed out by a few days. I can't remember exact figures. Seems a bit of a hefty rise! Ty

Hi All!
I have just had confirmation from the British Embassy, Turkey that the recent changes in Turkish legislation relating to the calculation of residence permit fees has resulted in huge increases. The residence permit fee for a five year permit is now
1,820,000,000TL  roughly £785.
Guess who has been caught out by this?

never mind,
regards
farmer

Hi,

Excuse my ignorance but what is this fee for? I have recently purchased a property (off plan) which is due for completion early next year.  I intend on using it as a holiday home only.
Will I have to pay this fee or is it for permanent residence only?

Glen

theyve stopped the trip to rhodes now - u cant just do that every 3 months like before. some say it'll work out cheaper to fly to england and bak every 3 months but i cant see that working as for 5 years u'd have to fly out about 20 times and u cant get 20 flight for £800!

Saw this in the Land of Lights -

The common problem shared by expatriates residing in the town (Kuşadasi) is the application of different rates for residence permits for different countries. They fail to see why the Germans pay 122 euro for a visa of five years, whereas it is 2005 euro for the Dutch and 2048 euro for the Russians.

Think this is possibly due to the way the UK gov operates for Turkish nationals coming to the UK as there is the disparity for visitors fees too.

HI everyone,
On the topic of residence permits, can anyone tell me if you still need to show a bank statement if you are married (or about to be married)to a Turkish national?

Why is this stuff all so confusing!(lol)

Thanks
