Title: Vitamin B
Post by: united4eva on June 16, 2008, 13:24:55 PM
Hi Everyone,

I have heard off many different members that taking B1 helps stop mosquito bites. Can anyone tell me where to buy B1 as I went to Tescos and they had B1 active B1 complex etc which all contain a small amount of B1 but I couldnt actually just buy B1 tablets. Am i looking for the wrong thing??
Thanks

The are actually called Thiamine hydrochloride which is the name for Vitamin B1.  We tried them last year and had some success.  They must be taken 14 days before and every day whilst abroad.

Hi JB,
This brewers yeast that you take daily, it wouldn't be better known as Effes would it?

Having suffered from the dreaded mossie bites for years started on the B1's a couple of years ago with some success. However this year for some reason just found it hard to swallow the tablets- hate Marmite and they taste just like that.:-\ Anyway by coincidence was using skin so soft spray oil after my shower - not one bite!!! Well worth a try![^]

I took vitamin B6 by mistake one year - it's apparently very good for fertility!!  Didn't get bitten once so have just carried on taking it each year.
