Sorry Janice. You can't work in Turkey. Unless you have citizenship or have a limited company.

Even with a limited company you cannot work! We know ... at considerable cost!! You can just about get away with it if you work for a UK-based company (more often than not as a tour rep) as long as you are paid from and into a UK-based bank account. They tried to change the laws here just before the Turkish elections which meant you could work legally if you had a limited company and had been resident for two years but that fell by the wayside! Sure, many people do get away with it but it's a high risk they take. If caught, you could get instantly deported - or maybe just a warning or fine ... but do you want to be looking over your back the whole time?
And back on the limited company bit, don't forget the on-costs. Accountants fees every month, whether you are earning or not, regular tax bills, tax on the business address (which may be your home address) blah blah blah!!
I've posted this comment before and it's still something that gets my goat up but even though we have our own bar, we cannot walk behind it by law!!! Work that one out!!!
Don't risk it Janice. Someone will dump you in it!!
Just a suggestion here ... come to Turkey, live a life of sunshine, relax and enjoy!! It ain't a bad life really (this comes from two people who haven't been to bed before 3 o'clock most nights!) Now I can't work that one out!
PS Kayakoy - how is Benson Belcekiz III ???
