Hi, I'm Sylvia and in London, UK, do you feel sorry for me, the weather is atrocious....and I'm dreaming of Turkey.
I do intend to move within a year, with my mother.  Now this is my question.  My mother is 83yrs old, but very active.  Her doubts about the move (and she is up for it) is whether there is a Whist club, or Keep Fit for the elderly??  She wants to keep her brain active.  I have assured her that with such a large ex-pat community there must be something.  Am I right??
By the way this is a great forum, hello to everyone, perhaps we will be neighbours soon.
Regards

Hi Sylvia (and Mum !)   welcome to CBF. I'm afraid I can't answer your questions, but I hope you both enjoy your move to Turkey.  Very brave at 83 - good on her !!   :)

Thanks Pookie, and I'm very proud of her too for even considering the move.  If anyone has any groups or activities for her age range, or even anything that the Turkish community offer?

Hi Sylva,  Welcome to the forum.  Hope you found lots of info to help you out in your move.
I would also be interested to know about any activities for my 88 year old mother in law who will be staying for a few months in the winter.

Thanks everyone for your welcome and answers, the site is extremely informative, but still nothing for the elderly.  Val's bar - sounds like an unusual name for an old folks club, what goes on there?
