Our apartment is in Tuzla, Fethiye. Dpes that count??

:)We've met loads in Fethiye, alot of them go in the Kismet and the other bars on that stretch if you want to meet up with any of them. ;)

Arent they the ones who have nothing to do all day except booze and gossip and bitch about everybody or is that an expat knobhead?
I'm never quite sure! ;)

NO :( (Fethiye resident)
-
It has never been suggested on CBF that ex-pat knobheads can be found in Kismet Bar.

LOL! Most of the ex-pats in Fethiye are a good bunch ..... but yes, there are a few knobheads around!! AND NO .. they don't all drink in Kismet! (Some do try though!!) Sadly, there is a mentality on the part of some to spend their entire day sitting in bars which surely must be boring? OK, we do it every day but we own the bar!! (My excuse and I will not waiver!!) Laffa is right, we do have some lovely customers, her included. As for Scunner coming when we are closed, don't get up so early!! We only close on a Monday and in summer, open at one o'clock. Far too hot!
-
By the way Jackstee, welcome to Fethiye!!

EXPAT KNOBHEAD
A silly person who lives abroad, doesn't understand culture or language values, superior and insulting to locals and there country believing they are incompetent, skint but wrapped up in property speculation , needs a slap and hides there own expat knobheadness, has a shaved head, bling, football shirt, loves lager groundhog day style but not the price, hates foreigners, the fount of local knowledge, pointless forum poster, makes mates laugh but knows zilch, opinionated, avoids other knobheads, keeps there own business to themselves, doesn't like dull stories, says your house is small compared to there smaller house knowing you can hear, can find someone to sort a lousy job for you at twice the price, cant find pork sausages in migros, will never learn a foreign language, speaks loudly in English to English speaking locals, wants everything on the cheap, demands nobody talks about them::

...and tells everyone who comes over that it would be a much better place if it wasn't for the expat knobheads.
-
and complains about the turkish flag being displayed on a turkish based forum

Amen!!!

I should also point out (as the original poster has just bought in Fethiye!!!) that in my opinion the "EPK" is a rare occurance, most are fine people. Trouble is, unlike the EPK's, you rarely hear them because you rarely see them. Visibility can cause distorted impressions on things :)

Hi Jackstee - we are in Tuzla, not there full time yet, hopefully next year, see how things go.
I'm just worried about turning into a EPK
A silly person who lives abroad - Thats me
has a shaved head - well not a lot of hair
keeps there own business to themselves - well I tend to be a bit private
doesn't like dull stories - I like who dunnits.
will never learn a foreign language - though not for want of trying - Insallah
wants everything on the cheap - well I'm Scottish
-
:)Luckily enough the plain old knobheads get left alone on this topic, and they are in abundance, so for you ex-pats, count your blessings, it could be worse, and what makes me laugh i think we are talking about different EPKs. ;)

Tks All
Chuffed I got 19 , sorry 20 replies.
We are dead chuffed that we got what we did, have lived in Turkey before (10 years) and came back to check it out after 8 years. We just confirmed what we allready thought, we luv it there. Yes we know the EPK's, they were there in 88, 90, 95 and 2000, But, they are also in everywhere in the world.
We are just looking forward to meet you all one evening in September to "put a face one everyone"
Great to hear your comments.
