IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
The Mayor of Fethiye has just agreed that the Calis Carnival 2009 will take place on Saturday 23 May 2009. The reason for this change of date is so that it does not clash with the weekend that the Turkish schoolchildren take their High school entrance examination (as was the case this year). This should enable far more schoolchildren to be involved on Carnival Day.
Hopefully there will not be a clash with Hisaronou Festival as the organisers have said that this will definitely take place on 30 May next year.
This means that Calis Carnival week activities will take place from 16 to 23 May 2009.
