Please be aware that even if we all have bars on our windows and doors we are still not safe to leave items within fishingrod reach. Yep just the other day a young Turkish girl well maybe Mid 20's was caught with a rod lifting a set of Keys and Handbag from my friends house in Calis.Luckily she caught her and took the Keys from her I just can't imagine if she had not.This girl wears headscarf also is blind in one eye well its totally white.The rod was taken but the turkish girl fled.Also I too have been subject to a girl just wandering in my house then she trys to offer me milk or tomatoes obviously looking for something to lift..Please a reminder to everyone be careful and keep things out of arms reach.

Please heed this warning, this Turkish hooker was caught in a neighbours house last week, then ran into the garden and offered to clean the pool, then jumped the fence and wandered through several gardens before riding off on her bike.

:)There was a girl who came to Lemon 2 in June,sure she had 2 eyes, but was selling biros, we were by the pool with the baby and she just sat there staring at the baby, made me very uncomfortable, I gave her 2 lira and told her I did'nt want a pen, just so she'd go.I appreciate its their country, but you really would'nt know who was who.it should be stopped.

Lou. We have a place at Violet so where are you [?]. Oddly enough we had our one and only intrusion about 6 weeks ago and it was an opportunistic "nip in and out" grab [:(!]. The renters were asleep but had not locked up. Got about 37 quid and naff all else.

her parents know she steals but they say she is sick

The thief is still active so beware. We found a one eyed lady (no not a pirate) behind our villa today (aydin Pide area) . She was trying to sell milk apparently round the back of the villa . We didnt realise until a visiting friend pointed out what had been written on the forum who she was. Please beware we sent her on her way by aid of our dog but i doubt that will stop her so be vigilant .

Think she made an appearance at our place yesterday about 10 am
We were sitting on the main balcony when suddenly our Pit bull shihtzu went flying to the back bedroom and did her best toe biting job on this woman/girl who was re-enacting riverdance on the bedroom balconette and trying to avoid a toe amputation by climbing back over it !!
I screamed at her and us and neighbours took chase but she was like a monkey over the empty villa and waste ground behind us She had parked her bike about 50 yards away and just rode off cool as ice with me shouting SONRA POLIS after her She has short curly dark hair and was wearing a white "England" top with crop trousers and Didnt notice if she had one eye or not tho !!!
Was a bit shook up about it all but ok now and Maisie the S**t has been given extra biscuits ! Nothing was taken thank god
So be aware - she is about and certainly is 2 sandwiches short of a full picnic
We are now making sure that we close back doors when we are round the front and vice versa

I think you should have reported her. The police may be able to identify her from your description. THe more people furnishing the Police wit information, the more likely they are to catch her. I imagine you feel pretty shook up. And so would I. I feel like getting a pet alligator, LOL

I agree, we live in Pakistan and you should watch them run when Charlie, our shihtsu, just looks at them.

LOL, we have a Cairn/Westie cross, a Collie and a Jack Russell. -No problems here.
But an alligator would be good too!

we had a shihtzu called sharpo and a alsation had got into our garden it did not stand a chance sharpo got under the ally and bit it's legs and it could not get at the little fella and sharpo seen him off great little guard dogs

On the bright side (and I don't mean the one with the working eye), you have to say that for a woman blessed with stealth and agility, she's pretty useless at nicking stuff :D

Hate to mention this but she is actually very successful, for all the stories you read on here there are many more where she has got away with a LOT of valuable property

She was still around on Sunday. My friend lives near Sunday market and was telling me yesterday that she found someone trying to get in her house on Sunday. She hadn't heard about all what had been going on but we are presuming it is the same person. Of course she vanished into the market!!

The description to the police should be pretty easy a one eyed woman very agile with bike,milk crate and duster.......cant be too hard to find ;)

It's just Not On : :) anyone who has had their 'Home' broken into, will know just how devastating it can be. It's not only the 'monetary' value of what's been stolen, it's the invasion of privacy, the thought of a total stranger looking through your personal belongings : :)
My sister ended up moving house because of 'thieves' : :), she never again felt safe in her home :-\

It's the good old British 'laughing in the face of adversity' and long may it continue. I thought some of the gags were quite good! Funny or not Phil, this topic has done more to warn people about this problem than anything else, so take the rough with the smooth :)

Sorry guys, I think this is all down to a misunderstanding - all I said to her was "She would catch a good bag if she tried fishing at the quays", I even gave her an old fishing rod with a few eyes missing 'cause I felt sorry for her :-\

I put the word "joke" in quotation marks indicating irony, which being British you should be familiar with :)

Has she now moved to Fethiye this thief.We heard yesterday that some people near where we are in Tasyaka have lost a mobile phone and some jewellrey and the person got in through an open window.

There was an attempted break in at our apartments but he was spotted on her balcony at 2.30a.m. He did actually break into another Turkish apartment on the same night. There was a burglary in Gunlukbasi last week where the occupents were threatened with a knife. The owner gave them a considerable amount of cash but he also wanted their jewellery from upstairs. (Info from our gardener who lives close by).

Our next door neighbour caught 2 scruffy looking 20 something year olds trying to break into the bottom floor apartment in our block. He called the police but they ran off before they got there. I live just near the flash hotel....

Just to let people be aware this woman is back again turned up at our complex last week and stole money from our apartment, we had family staying there at the time and it happened so quick they didnt notice the money missing straight away but other guests on the complex said they had seen a woman trying to sell them milk and she had a push bike, so am assuming its the same one. She must have entered quite brazenly through the lounge/kitchen area and took money left on the kitchen work top?Didnt take anything else even though their mobile phone was also on the worktop.
We are also situated by the Sunday market and the Aqua Park.

one eyed hooker? so who knows she's a hooker and how? the brightest thing about the turkish polis is their uniform button's. great at catching/taxing speeding motorists or people not wearing helmets on bikes although seen many polis officers riding into the station on the main drag without helmet. why should they catch this thief ? you must know by now that we (foriegners) are seen as rich and ripe for picking even by the bar/ resturant owners who charge different prices to holiday makers, expats, and cheapest deal goes to nationals.

Was talking to a pal from Calis last night,he's not a member of CBF,and I mentioned to him the situation regarding the one eyed lady with the sticky fingers.It materialised that he'd had a visit from her and was a few Lira the lighter.
He made a few inquiries, and in his words ''she's a bit dooally,and under medication.He also stated that the local Gestapo knew all about her and could'nt or would'nt do anything about it.
I know all the above could be just local chatter,but if the comment about her being under medication was true,perhaps it could explain her irrational behaviour.
