Hi. I am moving to Fethiye in November for at least a month and will be living way out of town. I would like to get web access up there but there are no facilities. I wonder if anyone has experience of using a dongle for web access. Im also interested in Turkish lessons and wonder if anyone knows about any besides the FIG weekly class?
Its great to have this on line community - thank you for providing it.
I havent worked out how to upload a photo yet so will remain incognito for now!

Hi Suz
If you want to upload a photo for your avotar, you just mail it to Scunner and he will do the rest.
I am no expert, but to me, a dongle is a device to give a pc or laptop that hasn't got built in wireless the capability to become wireless. If your area has no facilities (which I assume to be a wireless hotspot) then dongle or no dongle is irrelevant.

Suz, I think you might be thinking of a USB 3G data card (sometimes referred to as a dongle) I asked about these a while back - see the below relevant thread.
The simple answer is yes they do work, but are slow and very expensive. The subscription would also have to be set up in the UK with a typical carrier such as T-Mobile, Vodafone etc.
Hope this is helpful :)
