For me, there's he guy who stamps our visa (always a favourite of ours), the staff at Letoon, the people who serve us in bars and restaurants, Mrs H (naturally), old friends we met at Letoon every year, people who take us on lovely boat trips and last, but by no means least, fellow CBF Members.
But these two ladies are very, very special. They are the ones who, despite me always leaving the place in a right tip every day, clean our room at Letoon. I'm afraid I can only converse with them with a "gunaydin" here or a "tesekkur ederim" there, but Brenda and I would be very happy to call them our friends.
The second picture is what we sometimes find in our room. A small thing maybe, but a lovely gesture which we love and very much appreciate. Incidentally, the photograph was taken after the ladies had been working all day, so my apologies if they do not look their best.

H.
My wife always has a Photo of Misty, our granddaughter who died age fifteen months, which she has by her bed and takes it with her whenever we go away,
in Kalkan she had it on a shelf in the bedroom and the cleaning lady asked us who it was, the next morning there was a small bouquet of flowers by it which was changed every day. The same happened In Akyaka, at our favourite villa, every morning the staff would bring fresh flowers and say "flowers for Misty". 8)
And people ask me why do I keep returning to Turkey :)

Oh you two, H the pictures are lovely, and Mike I am so very sorry to hear about Misty, but what a lovely thing for the cleaning ladies to do around her picture, that has brought tears to my eyes.

Yes we have also experienced those special guestures from Turkish people. Last year our Turkish Friend and his family bought a massive birthday cake for my husband, then they invited the neighbours and family around to join in the surprise celebrations. How lovely that was. I have many beautiful memories of my visits to Turkey.

That's mean Tinx! Hakan is a lovely guy - when is he getting married? I know its soon - perhaps he wants you to give away his lovely bride No 2? lol :-\
Mike, I think your story has brought a tear to the eye for many of us - what a lovely gesture. What wonderful people the Turks are - probably why a lot of us have bought properties in such a lovely country. :)

I think if he's half as lucky as her then she'll be twice as lucky as him. Two very nice people.
