Title: Transfers4u
Post by: Gorgeous_bird on October 04, 2008, 22:20:37 PM
I am coming out in October for a week. I have been looking at transfers and have come across transfers4u.com (part of the Thomas Cook group). They are charging £42.50 for a return transfer (by shuttle) to Fethiye. Anybody used them at all?

Haven't used them GB.  But we did use Cathy at Cafe Pazar in Calis last time we were out.  She charges £10 per person each way, and we found them to be very reliable.  If its only for you (rather than a couple of people) it works out to be a very cheap transfer.

She was recommended to us by a couple of other forum users.  Can send you her email address if you want it.   :)

Can't see why not.  Though it may cost a little more - if you email her, she could give you prices etc.  We used Cafe Pazar for our daughter (we were already in Calis) so it was only £20 return for her.  Also to return our son and his girlfriend, again cheaper than the place we usually use when there are a few of us travelling.

Cafe Pazar is a nice little place, good food (though very basic) and a great quiz night on a tuesday!  Well worth a visit (near the Sunday market entrance).

Will email you the details in a mo.   :)

i went to airport to pick someone up it cost me 27ytl for petrol 2x3ytl for tunnel 8.75ytl for airport car park if i was to do the return it would have cost me 74ytl in total as you dont pay for car park when dropping off so if you can get a return for 35pound take it. :)

Proves my point very well, what profit are the transfer companies making? Over and above jinky's figures they need to pay wages, national insurance, vehicle maintenance (and purchase) and tax on any profit. Is it worth it for all the stress, the unsociable hours, the headaches and hassle? I can't see it myself.

I think there may be some confusion over the type of transfer.It seems many of the prices quoted are for a private transfer £35/£40 per vehicle one way,the £10 per person as from Cafe Pazer are for sharing a minibus with others,personally we quite enjoy the company on a shared transfer,always different experiences and stories to tell. We have done both sorts using Orange.Don't know what happens if some of the flights are delayed though,do you just sit and wait?

I booked Transfers 4 U this Summer.(Along with 2 weeks hotel, Hotels 4 U).
They failed to inform the local agent ,Yesil Dalyan Travel.,of a change to flight time arrival.
Result= nobody at airport.
Cost me  £40 for a taxi to Calis.
Avoid them.They are part of T.Cook,but so what,both are useless.
